Nestled in the Glen of the Downs Nature Reserve in Wicklow, this piece showcases a captivating view at the valley floor, beneath a canopy of ancient oaks. This protected woodland is a treasure trove of biodiversity, and I’ve painted here numerous times.
During the summer, the forest floor bursts with vibrant foxgloves, creating a stunning array of colors against the muted tones of the shaded undergrowth. On this particular day, I was captivated by the subtle shifts in color among the greenery, with the pinks and crimsons of the foxgloves standing out beautifully.
This location offers a unique experience; despite its tranquil beauty, a main road runs alongside, adding an intriguing contrast to the serene atmosphere. It's a strange but interesting juxtaposition between nature our impact on the environment.

Artwork Details
I use artist grade materials for all my work to guarantee colour vibrancy over time. All paintings are varnished to protect the work using a satin varnish which results in a semi gloss finish.
Original paintings come framed unless otherwise stated.
