This painting, created during the Dublin Plein Air Festival, captures a dramatic view looking back towards Balbriggan Harbour. On that day, I walked along the beach and encountered a striking cliff of compacted earth and sand, which appeared to be precariously leaning towards the shore.

The layers and strata visible in this cliff captivated me, showcasing the clear impacts of erosion on the landscape. This area is not only beautiful but also offers a dynamic painting experience, with the tides coming in and out as you work.

In the distance, the line of cliffs speaks to the ongoing erosion that continually reshapes this stunning coastal region. This piece reflects the powerful forces of nature at play and the ever-changing beauty of the Irish coastline.
