"Depot #1" is part of my conceptual series exploring the landscape through time. This studio-based painting draws inspiration from my on-location work in Glendalough, where the birch forest between the lower and upper lakes features meandering streams and flooded forest areas.

This mysterious setting evokes the essence of broken landscapes found in conflict zones. I intentionally created this scene to be vague, inviting viewers to weave their own narratives. The painting reflects our relationship with the Earth and the landscapes we inhabit, contemplating the futures we may encounter and the legacies we will leave behind.

Painted over the course of a year, "Depot #1" was started in 2023 and completed in 2024.

Artwork Details

I use artist grade materials for all my work to guarantee colour vibrancy over time. All paintings are varnished to protect the work using a satin varnish which results in a semi gloss finish.

Original paintings come framed unless otherwise stated.
